Summary

In this project 60+60 women with breast cancer are studied with questionnaires, interviews and medical data through a one-year period. A smaller study on imunology is added for 20+20 women. Women with brest cancer treated at Vidarkliniken, an antroposophic hospital, were individually matched with women treated at conventional hospitals. The two groups are compared and studied separately.

Summary

The aim of the project is to strengthen the basis for effective prevention of allergy in children. It focuses on farming and anthroposophic children, two groups with a low prevalence of atopic diseases and sensitisation, but for which specific protective factors have not yet been identified. Specific objectives include assessment of the role of certain environmental and life style factors for the development of allergy in children, such as diet, vaccinations, infections and animal contact. In addition, the influence of indoor microbial contaminants and the intestinal microflora is studied.
